Why our prints last 85 years
Most personalised prints are mass-printed posters. Ours are made-to-order fine-art keepsakes — archival cotton-rag paper, gallery framing, and assembled by hand in our own studio. Here is exactly what that means.
The paper: 310gsm cotton rag
Every print is produced on thick 310gsm cotton-rag paper: archival, acid-free and made from 100% cotton fibre, which is longer, stronger and more durable than the wood pulp used in standard paper. It is designed specifically for high-quality fine-art and photographic inkjet reproduction, and is rated for a print life of more than 85 years — meeting the Fine Art Trade Guild lightfastness requirement of 6 or more on the Blue Wool Scale.
The framing: Nielsen Bainbridge, Germany & Italy
Our frames and mouldings are manufactured in Germany and Italy by Nielsen Bainbridge, a framing maker renowned worldwide. The materials are designed and tested to the highest standards, and every framed print is assembled to order rather than pulled off a shelf.
Made from scratch, in our own studio
Nothing is drop-shipped. Each piece — including our float-mounted and panoramic framed editions — is designed, printed and assembled by hand in-studio. That control is why we can offer genuine personalisation and stand behind the finish.
Fine-art cotton rag vs standard poster paper
A typical online print is run on coated poster stock that yellows and fades within a few years under daylight. Cotton-rag paper is a different category of material: it is what galleries and museums use for limited-edition fine-art reproduction. The difference is visible in the depth of the print and, more importantly, in how it looks a decade later — which matters for a gift meant to mark a milestone.
